The Martinez Family: Fourth fun!

For the 4th of July we continued on with our newly founded tradition of going to Olympic Park in Saratoga Springs with the Clark family. They are some of our very best friends and we hope that this tradition keeps going for years to come, or at least until Taylor and Haleigh become "too cool" to hang out with the rest of us on the 4th of July. We were rather shocked at the much larger crowd at the park this year. It felt like last year we had the park all to ourselves. It'll be interesting to see how many people show up next year. I hope it doesn't start getting more and more crowded each year because that park has the most amazing view of a couple different firework shows and we were in awe over all the awesome fireworks we saw. Unfortunately, Matt had to leave before the fireworks even started because he had to be to work the next day at 4:00 a.m. But we did enjoy visiting with him while he was there. We ate yummy hoagie sandwiches, K and Matt played catch, Heidi and I put tattoos on the kids (and ourselves) and Heidi painted all the kid's faces, we enjoyed lots of 80's music courtesy Michael Jackson radio and lots of yummy salt water taffy. It was a wonderful and relaxing way to spend the 4th of July and I am so happy that we have this tradition to look forward to each year.
