Fishing with Jim

Last month Kendrick's dad's best friend, Jim came to Jack and Myles' last baseball game. It was the first time we had seen Jim since he helped us move into this house over a year ago. The last time we saw him before that was when we went camping with him and his wife, Debbie in 2010. Jim only lives in Murray so I find it ridiculous that we don't see him that often. I was able to pin down a date for us to all do something and Kendrick and Jim chose fishing as the activity. There is a cute little stock pond in Murray so we met Jim and his son, Andrew there on Saturday afternoon and the kids all had a blast fishing. Debbie met us there after an hour or so and brought some KFC for all the meat eaters in our group. It was nice to have an outdoor picnic on such a nice day and it was fun for me to be able to sit back and talk with Debbie. Easton was the lucky duck of the day and he caught the most fish. There must be something about that Buzz Lightyear fishing pole...
Each of our kids were able to catch a fish. Although, Myles was bummed that he didn't catch a fish with his own pole. He was only able to catch one with Easton's pole. I got such a kick out of seeing how determined he was to catch fish. He took off his shoes and stood out there in the water just staring intently at his bauble. Tay and E started to get bored after being at the pond for a few hours, but the twins were still enjoying themselves and by the end of the day those boys had perfect casts and had mastered reeling in their fish. We probably would have stayed longer but the sky opened up on us and we ended up getting in the car just as a huge thunderstorm passed over us. Kendrick will have to take the twins out a lot more often during the summer, because they had a blast. And I am all for going out to dinner with Jim and Debbie, because they are just so fun to be around.
It was a perfect way to spend the day!

Love E's face in this and how excited he got every time he got a bite!

Love this!

After she caught a fish she was done and was more entertained by climbing trees and watching baby ducks. Eventually she just laid on the blanket and watched Jem
